Here we will show you how to count by 1001, discuss counting by 1001 patterns, and tell you why knowing how to count by 1001 matters. To start off, note that Count by 1001 means counting in 1001s, or count by one thousand ones, and it is also called skip counting by 1001.

How to count by 1001
Normally, we would count by 1 like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, etc., but when we count by 1001, we count 1001, 2002, 3003, 4004, and so on.

In other words, to count in intervals of 1001 or skip counting by 1001, we start with 1001 and then add 1001 to get the next number, and then continue adding 1001 to the previous number to keep counting by 1001, like this:

1001
1001 + 1001 = 2002
2002 + 1001 = 3003
3003 + 1001 = 4004
4004 + 1001 = 5005
...
